The Seaward

A residential road running along the harbour shore to the east of the castle. Houses on the south side of The Seaward enjoy direct, unobstructed views across Portsmouth Harbour towards Gosport, the naval dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower. A public footpath runs between the road and the water, providing a scenic walking route along the harbour edge. The Seaward is one of the most desirable addresses in Portchester and property prices reflect the premium of the water views. The atmosphere is peaceful and distinctly coastal, quite different from the busier streets inland. At low tide, the mudflats below the path attract wading birds, and in winter the Brent geese feed in large numbers just metres from the road.
