A key residential road running south from West Street towards the A27 and the edge of the built-up area. Cornaway Lane is lined with interwar semis and postwar housing and gives access to numerous cul-de-sacs and closes that branch off on both sides. Castle Primary School, the village's main primary school, is located off the lane, making it busy during school drop-off and pick-up times. The southern end of Cornaway Lane is close to Portchester Crematorium, which sits in landscaped grounds. Beyond the crematorium, the land opens out towards the downs and the M27 motorway. The lane is one of the main routes connecting the village centre to the wider road network.
