Station Road
Street guide, Portchester
The road connecting the village centre with Portchester Railway Station, making it one of the most-used routes in the village for commuters heading to work in Portsmouth or Southampton. Station Road passes through residential streets, with Victorian and Edwardian houses near the centre giving way to newer builds closer to the station. The road crosses the railway line via a bridge, and the station itself is on the south side. During weekday mornings, the road sees a steady flow of commuters walking or driving to catch their train. The station car park is small and fills up early, so some commuters park on Station Road and the surrounding streets.
