Portchester Crematorium Opens

Portchester Crematorium opened in 1958 on land at the southern edge of the village, off Cornaway Lane. It was built by Fareham Borough Council to serve the wider borough and surrounding area. The crematorium is set in landscaped grounds with gardens of remembrance and mature planting. It has been extended and updated over the decades and remains one of the principal crematoria serving the Fareham and south-east Hampshire area.
