St Mary's Church

undefined, Portchester

A Norman church standing within the walls of Portchester Castle, originally built as the priory church of an Augustinian house founded in 1133. When the canons moved to Southwick in the 1140s, the church became the parish church and has served the community ever since. The Romanesque arches, carved font and flint walls make it one of the most architecturally significant churches in Hampshire. Services are held regularly.
